Adrian College’s Hickman Gallery will host a “Stars and Stripes: Artistic Dialogues on the American Flag” exhibition from May 9 to July 26.

Stars and Stripes: Artistic Dialogues on the American Flag is a juried art exhibition that invites artists working in all media to delve into the symbolism, history, and diverse perspectives surrounding this iconic emblem. From traditional interpretations to avant-garde expressions, the exhibition features artworks that reflect the myriad of ways in which the American flag serves as a powerful symbol of identity, unity, and freedom.

Filipino California: Art and the Filipino Diaspora, Forest Lawn Museum
Opening Reception: Saturday, April 20, 2024 | 5-7 PM On view April 20-September 8, 2024 Forest Lawn Museum is proud to present Filipino California: Art and the Filipino Diaspora. The exhibition showcases the work of seven contemporary artists working across styles and formats, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, installations, conceptual art, and more. The artists in the exhibit--Eliseo Art Silva, Allison Hueman, Anthony Francisco, Maryrose Cobarrubias Mendoza, Christine Morla, Maria Villote, and Junn Roca—directly and indirectly address issues related to Filipino culture and the Filipino-American experience.
